Life Is Good No Matter What™ arranged for our very first gift to be granted to 59-year-old Sandusky, Ohio resident Vickie Milner in December 2012. A classical music fan, Milner was provided front row seats for her entire family to see the Akron Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Pops concert at the historic Akron Civic Theatre. To her delight, her three grandchildren were invited onstage to play instruments at the close of the concert, which resulted in an outpouring of emotion from everyone in the audience. A gourmet dinner donated by Akron restaurant Papa Joe’s and limousine service to and from Sandusky rounded out a memorable evening. But most importantly, for one day, cancer did not take center stage.
“Life Is Good No Matter What™ allowed not only me, but also my family, to escape from cancer for one night. What a priceless gift.”
On April 13, 2013, Vickie "gave back" by hosting an amazing fundraiser at the Sandusky State Theatre, where more than 200 people attended and $5,000 was raised for our next recipient. Ashley Sneider (12, daughter of Holly) gave a tear-jerking and moving speech about her mom. Vickie has been battling advanced breast cancer since 2009.
